THE QUIET ACT
OF BECOMING
A Collection of poems
Written and read by Rosamai Liliet
For the spaces between leaving and arriving
We spend so much of our lives running. We race away from the heavy endings we fear, desperately chasing the certainty of destinations we haven't yet reached. We build fortresses of knowledge, put on costumes to please the world, and demand sharp, definitive lines to tell us exactly where we stand.
But transformation has never belonged to the rooms we occupy or the goals we achieve.
This collection is an invitation to stop in the doorway. It is an exploration of the threshold—the sacred, quiet space between leaving and arriving, where the old falls away and the new is born without drama, like dawn before it is named.
These words are for anyone who is learning to lay down their armor, empty their hands, and trust the wild, unmapped rhythm of their own pulse.
Because sometimes, the greatest act of courage is not building who you think you should be, but simply surrendering to the quiet act of becoming yourself.

01
The Breaking Point
You thought the walls would hold forever
But the weight of the roof kept pressing down
You believed reinforcing the beams with logic
And locking the windows against the wind
Would somehow keep it all together
Convinced that this false safety
Was a matter of outer structure
But nothing solid is built
Out of borrowed expectations and illusions
And one day
The storm does not just clear the air —
It sweeps away the entire foundation
And it is more than tragedy
It is the earth demanding its space back
It is the moment the ceiling caves in
And you are forced
To look up —
And notice the sky
To look within —
And notice the real you
For the very first time
02
The Space Between
There is a hollow, sacred place
Stretched wide between the breaths we take
A sanctuary of dust and grace
Where ancient habits start to break
It lies suspended, soft and vast
Between leaving the known
And entering the wild unseen —
A bridge that spans the fading past
And what has yet to be revealed
Most people rush to pass it by
Blind to the miles
Convinced that only the destination matters
But no one ever found the truth within the walls
Wildness itself has always reached out far
To catch the traveler by surprise
Listen close — the shadows shift
You do not have to be there yet
To be entirely here
For life has always whispered low —
Not from the rooms to which we go
But from the doorway’s open crack
The space between
Where light and possibilities
Come drifting in

03
The Transition
We spent years calling out the thunder
Waiting for the sudden tearing of the canvas
Demanding the sharp, definitive line
Between what was
And what will be
But no one tells us the quiet truth;
That the threshold is the only place
Where every heavy ending arrives
Carrying an unspoken beginning
It does not knock heavily
It does not turn the room
Instead, it enters like water through limestone —
Patient
Invisible
Absolute
It is the silent beat moving into the hollow chest
While you are still mourning the quiet that remains
It is the tight seed splitting beneath the winter frost
Long before the cold soil remembers how to warm
It comes without drama
It passes without a single word
Only like the first, cold silvering of dawn
Creeping over the blue, forgotten horizon —
Spilling its light into the waiting world
Holding everything together
Long before anyone has woken up
Long before anyone has given it a name
04
Becoming
I spent the long years collecting the weight
Of other peoples opinions and costumes to wear.
I dreamt of becoming someone
With thoughts full of answers
I gathered up knowledge
I built up a fortress
Of what I thought I should be
And as I stood on the towers of my own making
Certain and alone
Convinced that all the clutter
Would turn me into me
I realized
There was no room for wonder
or for grace
But the seasons grew wiser
The wind grew sharp
And life didn’t ask me to prove my worth
Instead, it dismantled the truths
and whispered that strength
Is my only key
It gently commanded;
Lay it all down
The titles
The armor
The masks
Everything holding you bound
And there in the quiet
Stripped of the weight
The silence became the first peace
I had ever known
When the first layers
Were brushed from the floor
And the smoke of the battle finally cleared
I looked in the mirror
And saw a glimpse of the true self
That refused to disappear
Not added
Not built
Not staged —
Only the beautiful essence
Of what was left undone

05
The River Knows
We stand at the edge of the shifting days
Asking the wind if our thoughts are right
If the path we chose
Through the tangled haze
Will lead us safely
Into the light
We crave a map for the miles unseen
A guarantee for the unfolding track
But look to the water that bends and flows
Surrendering completely
Never looking back
For the river has never once paused
To ask the wise ocean which way to go
It does not negotiate with the changing bank
Or question the currents that pull below
It needs no compass
It seeks no sign
It spills over boulders
and breaks through the clay
Without any blueprints or static design
It trusts the wild momentum of the tide
So let’s fall into the rhythm of our own pulse
Where there is no need for direction
And no demand for proof
Just the quiet act
Of becoming
06
The Wilderness Undone
Deep in the velvet mist
Where shadows bend
And the old world softens
Haunted paths and moss-grown roads
Are coming to an end
The ancient trees hum in the wind—
It is okay to turn
To change your mind
To leave the well-worn, heavy tracks behind
Remember
You are the architect of dawn
And the rising sun
The sacred rewriting has begun—
Creating a new normal from the clay
Where all the ancestral ghosts just fade away
Listen
The fog whispers your ancient name
A quiet spark returning to the flame
Beneath the noise
The longing starts to clear
Your intuition rises, sharp and near
Sink down
Into the marrow, into the dark
Where your inner creatrix ignites its spark
You are the threshold where the worlds align
The human vessel holding the divine
Look up
The moon is heavy, full, and bright
An ancient mirror in the silver night
She does not beg the sky to hold her space
She simply rules the dark with wild grace
They called you too much in the fading light
Too loud, too deep, too heavy for the night
But the too much woman is simply the wilderness undone
She is the ocean breathing in the air
She is a universe, untamed and wide
The ancient magic pulling at the tide
So let the longing anchor in your chest
This is the sanctuary, this is the rest
No longer searching in the misty strands
This is where my heart lands
You are worthy of the power you now hold
The inner alchemy
The turning into gold
No longer hidden, no longer controlled—
You are the wolf, the moon, the ancient sea
Awake
Alive
And wildly free

07
The Memory of Light
Nothing is broken
Nothing is wrong
An ancient tiredness rests in the silent bones
Breaking against the wheel of hours
It is a riverbed
Timeless and sound
Waiting for the frost to break
A presence lingers
Something is shouting
A frozen weight in the heavy clay—
A knot of old winter
A fist of dry wind
Bow to its arrival
And listen as it speaks
It is here to shift your winds
But not yours to keep
The oak does not defend its bark
There is no enemy in the marrow
No shadow that is not, at its root,
The memory of light
Sit in the unshaken silence
Until the skin forgets the clock
Surrender your weight
Like a stone at the bottom of the pond
Witness how the forest yields to autumn
Without a tear
Without a struggle
Drop the heavy stone into the current
Watch it sink
Let it go
Let the mind
Cast off like a boat from the dock
Float on the current of your own breath
Drift out toward the open, unmapped sea
To set the horizon free
Turn your face away
From the crowded road
Walk into the untamed grass
Only where the landscape shifts
The blood will remember its way
Old tracks wash away in the rain
Without counting history
New rivers carve themselves through the valley
An open path where nothing was before
And there, from the vast, dark soil of your center
The being whispers—not in words
But in the green, fierce pulse of life;
Remember
Awake
Arise
A sudden rush of silver water
Floods the dry creek of the spine
Vitality enters like the morning
A soft, unstoppable dawn
Igniting the quiet landscape of the body—
Until every cell
Every quiet leaf
Is breathing light and life again
08
Curiosity As My Compass
I step into the wild
Untamed and wide
With curiosity as my only guide
A compass spun by questions left unknown
Through misty woods
Where the forgotten shadows gleam
And mountains steeped in night
It steers my spirit deep into a dream
As I follow the ancient whispers of the sky
Like a river cutting through the land
I let life flow
Unguided by my hand
It rushes soft
It crashes wild and free
A sacred current moving inside me
I wash away the borders of the shore
I let the endless tides come rushing in
I am the water
I am the sea
I am anywhere the wind can be

09
The Willow Way
Beneath the mist where waters pulse and flow
The Willow People gather, soft and slow
They do not fight the wind, nor curse the storm
They bend their wooden spines to take new form
For every branch that dances in the light
A shadow twin is reaching through the night
They know the darkness is a sacred womb—
Where silent roots unlock the emerald bloom
Come, let us walk into the Willow land
Where ancient moss and shadows take our hand
Deep into the dampness of the ghost
And meet the fractured parts feared the most
For when the roots embrace the midnight earth
The scattered pieces find their quiet rebirth
The rising life now floods the silver veins
As sunlit moss erases all our stains
We do not merely stand within the light—
We are the light
Reborn
Alive
And bright

To My Moon Girl
You are not a fire to be tamed
Nor a map already drawn
You are the tide, the shifting currents
And the sudden, igniting dawn
I promise not to hand you final truths
Or a path carved out of stone
I only offer invitations
To the worlds you make your own
These are the seeds I choose to plant
With hands no longer tightly bound—
Grow wild, my dear
Grow soft, grow bold and true
Bloom in colors I’ve never seen;
I release the need to shape your soil
Or choose where your sweet branches lean
Listen close, my daughter of this world
To the things I wish I knew in my youth:
Your magic lives in remembering
Your own unvarnished truth
You are allowed to recreate yourself
To pull your roots and start again,
To love the parts of you that easily break
And welcome back the light you have always been
For women have walked through heavy nights
And carried shadows not our own
But when we mend our fractured hearts
The ancient grief is overthrown
By healing what is raw in us
We rewrite all that came before
Unbinding mothers from their ghosts
And setting free what was locked behind that door
And as we pass this knowledge down
To you, my luminous soul
You who hold the dreamy, pastel sky
And carry the warmth of a thousand stars
We weave a future safe and wide
Where young girls do not have to hide
This is the deep, unbroken grace;
To heal the past, to clear the track
So take the light, sweet girl of the moon
And never hold your spirit back
